2024, A simple stool with amazing shoes!
The idea is simple — a little ornamentation goes a long way. The stool is based on a prototype from 2022, created for my project Scenes from a Home. The original 2022 version of the stool was made from MDF, standard wood planks, and 3D-printed PLA.
Now, New Shoes has evolved into a refined piece of carpentry. The alder wood seat is slightly concave and much thicker than in the flat original, with softly rounded edges. The “shoes” are made of sand-cast glass and rubber.

The stool comes in two versions:
Alder wood with hard wax oil and cast glass shoes, and beech wood with red wood stain, lacquer, and cast aluminum shoes. New Shoes was exhibited at Rotterdam Design Biennal in 2025.
