Array of Light
2017, Sliding Lights Concept
Array of Light was developed during my studies at Lund University in collaboration with Maja Lindh and Stina Henriksson, under the supervision of guest professors Leif Huff (IDEO) and Stefan Diez (Diez Office). The project was exhibited at Milan Design Week 2017.
The project explores how light can be shifted and controlled through direct, tactile interaction.
The final concept consists of a series of aluminum luminaires in which light intensity and direction change intuitively through physical gestures.
By sliding the spheres along the rods, the light can be spread or concentrated — when the spheres touch, the light grows stronger. In the table lamp version, pressing the sphere downward dims the light.
We programmed the lights with Arduino
